Welcome to the Cultivating Effective Instructional Design (Yellow) page.

This standard encourages the use of knowledge-building, creativity and innovation in our school libraries as we promote literacy and information-seeking skills. It looks at how we can provide opportunities to utilize a variety of resources, technologies and spaces to support participatory and inquiry-based learning.

In order to achieve your bronze level badge in this area, you will complete six (6) badges for each of the sub-themes contained in this standard: Instructional Leadership, Instructional Partnerships, Engaging with Inquiry Approaches, Differentiated Learning, Technology for Learning and Evidence Based Practice. Once you have achieved badges for all six sub-themes, your Cultivating Effective Instructional Design (Yellow) – Bronze Level badge will be automatically awarded to you.

To achieve your silver badge, you will explore more resources in greater depth and then create a plan for moving your library forward in this area. Don’t worry, we will guide you along the way!

Finally to achieve the gold level badge, you will be asked to submit evidence of meeting the goals that you set out in your plan. You can use a variety of media to demonstrate the ways in which you have cultivated effective instructional design.

Let’s start our journey!
